Congratulations to Joey Knight on 300 games!
A huge congratulations to Joey Knight who played his 300th game for the Northern Saints on Saturday.
The reserves celebrated the occasion in style coming away 14 point winners against a strong Coburg Districts outfit. Joey was as influential as ever and was named as the Saints best player on the day.
Joey began playing for the North Coburg Saints at Hosken Reserve in 1995 as a 9 year old. Since then he has captained both the under 18’s and reserves and has shown himself to be a fantastic leader and team mate.
In recent years Joey has been the backbone of the Saints reserves backline as a strong defender with a booming kick, whilst also displaying great leadership and voice. Joey has also proven himself to be very versatile, as demonstrated by his performance in the midfield on Saturday.
Joey has played many of his games with his brother, club legend Anthony (Kinga). Between them they have played close to 700 games for the club.
The Northern Saints are very proud of Joey’s huge achievement and we hope there are many more games to come!
