We are a thriving football and sporting community characterised by the endless pursuit of excellence both on and off the field.
The Northern Saints Football Club are a part of the Fawkner-North Coburg Sports Club located in Fawkner. We are affiliated with the Essendon District Football League Second Division.
The Northern Saints were formed in October 2007 as a result of a merger between the North Coburg Saints Football Club (which played in the EDFL) and the Fawkner Park Football Club (which played in the Northern Football League). The Fawkner Park Football Club was itself the result of a merger between Fawkner Amateurs and Moomba Park.
Our first senior premiership was in 2013 — Essendon District Football League Division 1. The Saints have added junior flags since then (Under 17 in 2017, Under 15 in 2018, Under 10s and Under 16s in 2022) and the Reserves have flagged back-to-back premierships in 2023 and 2024, with another Under 10s flag in 2024.
The Northern Saints fields senior, reserves and under 18.5 sides as well as junior boys teams from under 8's to under 16's. We field junior girls sides at under-12 and under-14 in 2026, and are pushing to add under-10 and under-16 girls teams in 2027 as we continue growing our female program. The Northern Saints also have an Auskick program.
The Northern Saints are connected to a number of historical northside clubs — the families whose footballers have pulled on the Saints jumper across generations.
